Breaking the decorating rules: Big in small!

Just read it somewhere last week:  Smaller rooms and homes require smaller or more lightly scaled furniture.

Well, there's a great decorating rule to be broken!

I love the effect big furniture can have in a small space. I admit it doesn't work anyhow or anywhere. But often it can be so classy or a least it gives the room a simple and peaceful atmosphere.

Some examples?

Eh bien, voilà une bonne règle de la décoration qui demande à être enfriente!
J'adore l'effet qu'un grand meuble peut avoir dans une petite espace. C'est vrai que ça ne fonctionne pas n'importe comment ou n'importe où. Mais souvent, ça peut être tellement chic ou au moins ça peut créer une ambiance simple et calme.
