I would like to tell you about the graphics on cards and posters by Vitosha, a French brand that is inspired by Bulgarian folk art and interprets the traditional patterns and shapes.
The brand takes its name from Vitosha boulevard (who got it's name from the mountain Vitosha) the most famous boulevard in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria. The people call it Vitoshka - a little like an affectionate nickname.
The philosophy of Vitoshka is to sublimate the craft techniques and traditional figures and apply them in a modern spirit.
In short, it's a get-tohether of French design and Bulgarian traditional crafts.

The designs of the cards and posters are inspired by traditional Bulgarian embroidery.
The Neven design is available in several styles - from the
romantic and delicate 'heart' to the more graphic one - made up of small dots or squares.
The designs with a French name, like l'oeil (the eye) or l'âne (the donkey) , are called so because something in the traditional shapes 'suggested' the name, let's call it the Vitoshka-interpretation !
