The countdown is seriously advancing and in three days it'll be Christmas.

I'm hoping most of your decorations are up and your tree is fully 'dressed'.

We're going away for a few days and I have to say I'm a bit sad to have decorated my home and not be here to enjoy it during Christmas (then again I leave the decorations up long enough to enjoy them before and after). 

I got to thinking that where we're going it'll probably not be decorated, apart from the restaurant I hope, so maybe I'll just bring some stuff to create my Christmas home-away-from-home ...

Le compte à rebours est sérieusement avancé et dans trois jours, c'est Noël.

J'espère que la plupart de vos décorations sont en place et que votre sapin est 'en plein forme'.

Nous partons quelques jours et je dois dire que je suis un peu triste d'avoir décoré la maison et ne pas être là pour en profiter pendant Noël (ceci dit, je laisse les décorations en place assez longtemps pour en profiter avant et après).

Je me suis dit que là où nous allons, ce n'est probablement pas décoré, à part le restaurant j'espère, alors peut-être je vais carrément apporter quelques petites choses pour créer un Noël dans mon chez-moi loin de chez-moi . . .

A star garland

Avec une perforatrice en forme d'étoile et du joli papier, vous faites 20 à 40 étoiles (selon votre courage) et avec une machine à coudre il suffit de les assembler en forme de guirlande.

With a star-shaped punch and some pretty paper, you make between 20 and 40 stars (depending on your motivation) and with a sewing machine you simply assemble them to create your garland.

J'ai trouvé l'idée d'Elvera ici sur son joli blog Elv's. C'est comme si vous aviez le petit frère du sapin de Noël sur votre mur. Comme c'est malin, avec l'avantage en plus de profiter également de l'odeur d'un vrai sapin !

 I saw this idea by Elvera here on the lovely blog Elv's. It's like having the little brother of the Christmas tree on your wall. How smart this idea is, with the advantage of also having the lovely smell of a real tree !

Tiny paper Christmas tree

Vous aurez besoin de papier à recycler (journal ou magazine) une brochette en bois, un pot et une petite étoile. Coupez autant de carrés de papier que vous êtes capables, en faisant bien attention d'augmenter leur tailles en avançant. 'Enfourchez'-les sur la brochette et terminer avec la petite étoile et voilà !

You'll be needing old paper (newspaper or magazine) a skewer, a plant pot and a little star. Cut as many squares of paper as you're willing, minding that you increase the size as you go along. Put them on the skewer, put the little star on top and there you are !

Ici aussi, j'aime la simplicité de cette idée et l'effet si doux. Vous aurez besoin de branches d'une plante grimpante (comme la Vigne Vierge ou la Vigne) avec lesquelles vous créez la couronne, maintenue avec un ruban large. La boule peut être cousue sur le ruban (comme sur la photo), mais pour faire plus facile, vous pouvez également passer le ruban par le fil d'attache de la boule.

Again, I love the simplicity of this idea and the very sweet effect. You'll be needing some branches from a climbing plant (like the Virginia Creeper or a Vine) with which you create the wreath, held together with a large ribbon. The ornament can be sewn on the ribbon (like in the photo), but to make it easier you can also make the ribbon go through the thread attached to the ornament.

Un autre mini sapin en papier. J'adore une fois de plus la simplicité de cette idée, on pourrait même le faire avec les enfants. Ici la base est une jolie branche en bois mais vous pouvez choisir aussi un petit pot avec de la terre, un peu de mousse ou n'importe quel autre support qui tiendra la brochette. Avec du papier blanc ça sera déjà joli mais avec une peu d'imagination on peut faire de tout !

Another miniature paper Christmas tree. Again, I love the simplicity of this idea, you can even make this with children. In the photo the base is a nice wooden branch but you can also choose a small pot with soil, some oasis or any other material strong enough to hold the skewer. With plain white paper it'll be already lovely but with some imagination you can do just about anything !

Ceci est une photo à moi et je vous assure, si moi je peux faire ça, tout le monde peut le faire! Vous roulez un plat et choisissez les formes que vous préférez (j'ai choisi des ronds et des rectangles). Ensuite, vous utilisez des tampons encreurs, soit avec de l'encre ou tout simplement pour imprimer l'image directement dans la pâte. N'oubliez pas de faire un petit trou avec un cure-dent pour pouvoir les accrocher plus tard et laissez sécher tout simplement .

This is my own photo and I can assure you if I can make these, anyone can ! You roll out the clay and choose the shapes you prefer (I chose round and rectangular). Then you use ink stamps, either with ink or just to stamp the image directly in the clay. Don't forget to make a hole with a tooth pick to be able to hang them later and simply let them dry .

Un petit cadeau pour la maison, un joli collier de perles en bois avec une petite étoile pour évoquer Noël. Simple à faire et je trouve que c'est juste la petite intention qui rappelle les fêtes de fin d'année.

A little present for your home, a necklace of wooden beads with a little star at the end which makes it a Christmas jewel.  It's simple to make and I find it's just the little detail that reminds us it's the Holidays .

En dernier, mais pas la moindre des idées et probablement ma préférée, la plus simple des décorations de Noël. Écrivez votre message de Noël préféré avec une machine pince-à-lettres et accrochez-le avec une jolie petite décoration au mur. Il n'y a pas plus facile et moi j'adore l'effet !!

Last but not least and probably my personal favorite, the ultimate simple Christmas decoration. Write your favorite Christmas message with a label maker and hang it on the wall with a lovely Christmas object. It doesn't get any easier and I so love the effect !!
